At Thanet Mediation Centre, we believe that meaningful resolution begins with understanding what lies beneath the conflict.
As experienced mediators, we empower individuals, families and communities to navigate complexity with purpose and clarity while offering hope.
We guide people through challenging situations by reconciling harm, challenging patterns, and rebuilding trust.
We help participants see what is really happening beneath their disputes, repair broken relationships, and create fairer solutions that work better for everyone.
We envision a community in Thanet where differences are acknowledged, relationships are restored, and people come together to create positive, lasting change.
What is mediation?
Key Features of Mediation:
- Voluntary: Everyone involved chooses to take part — no one is forced to be there.
- Impartial: The mediator doesn’t take sides or make decisions for you.
- Confidential: What’s said in mediation stays in the room.
- Empowering: You control the outcome — not a judge, manager, or authority figure.
- Efficient: Often quicker and more cost-effective than formal complaints or court proceedings.
- Future-Focused: It’s about repairing relationships and finding a way forward, not just looking at the past.
Why Use Mediation?
- Initial Contact: We establish psychological safety and separate the person from the problem to explore what lies beneath the presenting issues.
- Preparation: Our mediators work with each party to understand systemic patterns, unspoken fears, and genuine needs.
- Mediation Sessions: Parties engage in facilitated dialogue in a safe, neutral space where transformative breakthroughs become possible.
- Resolution: When parties achieve alignment, we document sustainable agreements that honour all perspectives.
